My name is George Papadopoulos and I am the Director of the SEIT (Software Engineering and Internet Technologies) Lab, an integral part of the Department of Computer Science, University of Cyprus. I contact you because of your past involvement in ENPI CBC Med related activities and in order to explore the possibility of
cooperating with you in the upcoming call for capitalisation projects.

As you may be aware of, in the ENPI CBC Med programme ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) play an important role as a cross-cutting theme that links in with the other thematic objectives. Therefore, proposals are expected to make good use of ICT, according to the thematic objective they address, as well as their individual aims and scope.

The SEIT Lab has extensive expertise in the practical use of ICT in a number of areas, such as e-Health, e-Business, e-Government, e-Learning, environmetal and energy related matters, as well as social issues and issues related to entrepreneurship and innovation. It has participated in many EU funded projects, including several Framework and H2020 Programmes and two Interreg IVC ones.
Furthermore, as the University of Cyprus is the primary state university in the country, it has close links with local, regional and national authorities and policy makers, whom we can invite to participate in a proposal. Consequently, if you plan to submit a proposal for ENPI CBC Med that involves ICT, I would be very interested in cooperating with you in the preparation of the proposal and contributing to it as a partner, along with any needed policy makers and government organizations in Cyprus.

Barcelona Supercomputing Center would like to inform you on the recent opening of the third call of its international postdoctoral programme, called STARS (SupercompuTing And Related applicationS Fellows Programme) and cofunded by the H2020 MARIE SKŁODOWSKA-CURIE COFUND Plan.

STARS programme aims at fostering the training of highly skilled post-doc in all fields of High Performance Computing and related applications. This initiative is part of COFUND call of the Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions within the Horizon 2020 Programme.

The programme will award 20 outstanding post-doctorate researchers of all nationalities with 24-month INCOMING fellowships, providing them with all necessary tools for developing their potentials, deepening their skills and knowledge in a stimulating, international and interdisciplinary environment, and offering them intersectorial short secondments (1-3 months) with private industry or non-academic research centres (such as Lenovo, CISCO, AstraZeneca, IBERDROLA, EU JRC, AEMET, IRB and CRG in order to boost their career perspectives as successful independent researchers. Short secondments periods under the premises of these partner institutions will take place within the STARS programme. Fellows will also be strongly encouraged to participate at least once a year in an international event in their domain of research.

This call will award up to 6 fellowships.

Description of the Position

The new Faculty member(s) will advance the CARE-C’s research and innovation agenda in one of its scientific focus (Environmental Observations and/or Predictions) covering experimental and/or modelling activities on key climate drivers (reactive trace gases, aerosols, clouds, greenhouse gases), addressing their regional impact on Air Pollution and Climate.

The successful candidate(s) will promote the overall scientific excellence of the Cyprus Institute in the EMME, Europe, and beyond, train young scientists to become international leaders, combine both research and innovation with strategic partners (Academia, Public stakeholders, Private partners) to develop new products/services at the closest of end-user needs.

The selected faculty member(s) will conduct their research in CARE-C, a recently established research center of the Cyprus Institute composed by c.a. 75 research staff from more than 15 different nationalities, within a highly attractive working environment where English is the working language for both research and administration.

The successful candidate(s) are expected to build up an independent research thrust with the highest international standards, leveraging CyI and CARE-C resources (45 million euros in the framework of EMME-CARE) and utilizing the highly competitive research facilities of the Cyprus Institute such as the “Cy-Tera” HPC (http://web.cytera.cyi.ac.cy/), the Unmanned System Research Laboratory (USRL, http://usrl.cyi.ac.cy), and the Cyprus Atmospheric Observatory (CAO, http://www.cyi.ac.cy/index.php/cao.html) which is part of international networks (WMO-GAW, EMEP, ACTRIS, TCCON).

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for helping to shape and advance the Cyprus Institute’s and CARE-C’s research and innovation agenda by:

  1. developing and implementing R&D strategies appropriate to the Institute’s mission to support the departments of the republic of Cyprus and become a regional knowledge hub in the field of air pollution and climate change
  2. actively participating and ultimately leading world-class research programs in atmospheric sciences using state-of-the-art experimental and modelling tools
  3. securing financial and other resources from national and international sources;
  4. mentoring, educating and providing research guidance to graduate students in CyI’s doctoral program (particularly the Environment and Atmospheric Sciences program);
  5. initiating and sustaining high-level collaborative projects with leading research institutions that conduct research in areas related to his/her respective fields;
  6. communicating the results and implications of research conducted at CARE-C and The Cyprus Institute at all levels, including the academic community, the public at large and political and economic decision makers.

Qualifications:

  1. The successful candidate(s) are expected to be scholars of international standing with a minimum of five (5) years post-doctoral research experience.
  2. An excellent track record of peer-review scientific publication in the top 10 journals of her/his field
  3. Participation in many international research programs and/or field campaigns
  4. Teaching/Mentoring young (Master/PhD) researchers
  5. A proven technical/scientific expertise in a specific experimental and/or modelling field of atmospheric research
  6. Experience in raising funds from (inter)national competitive calls for research projects
  7. The selected candidate(s) should have a demonstrated ability to work independently and the potential to become international leaders in their disciplines.
  8. They must have excellent interpersonal skills aimed at maintaining contacts in academic, business and governmental circles.
  9. Proficiency in spoken and written English is a prerequisite.

Looking for Partners for SC1-PHE-CORONAVIRUS-2020-2C – Psychological Intervention for frontline healthcare workers

Researchers of a German university are setting up a proposal for the above-mentioned call (SC1-PHE-CORONAVIRUS-2020-2C – Behavioural, social and economic impacts of the outbreak response).
With their project they want to implement and evaluate a short, video-based psychotherapeutic intervention with the aim to support health care employees experiencing occupational stress and moral injuries in the context of COVID-19.
They already have partners from Germany, France, Spain and Italy. So far mainly psychologists are taking part in the project – therefore they are looking for researchers in other relevant disciplines to take part in the proposal as well as hospitals to function as multipliers to reach the health care workers, so that they can take part in the intervention.

REQUESTED PARTNER

The following types of partners are sought for the proposal:

  • Nursing science
  • Internal Medicine
  • Psychosomatic Medicine
  • Intensive Medical Care
  • Health-economics / Health Sociology
  • Hospitals (heath care employees who treated COVID-19 patients)

They should be interested in the evaluation of a cognitive-behavioral intervention in a video-based format. They should be prepared to motivate and recruit health care employees who currently work or worked in the context of COVID-19. They may have ideas and skills for evaluating the intervention on occupational health and health economic outcomes.

We would like to apply for a Project titled as “TOWARDS DIGITAL EUROPE: MAPPING INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE EU STUDENT CARD FOR HIGHER EDUCATION INSTUTIONS” under KA203 Project Call. Our project consists of implementing European Student Card among partner organizations which will be a good implementation example.

Higher education curricula across Europe is changing rapidly and there is a high need for digitalization to remove paperwork and bureaucracy. Digitalization is on the way with the  several EU regulations. Building inclusive higher education systems and promoting internationalization are selected sub-priorities for this project. Thus, we believe our project would  contribute to these sub priorities as well since we aim to increase interaction among partner organizations.

Under the project we will be testing the use of designed EU student cards for Erasmus students among partner organizations. Partner organizations need to arrange new student cards defined in “European Student Card” Guidebook.

A French SME has developed an innovative ‘eye-tracking’ medical device to help diagnosing neurological and psychiatric diseases by bringing up robust and quantitative oculomotor neuromarkers for early disease detection and follow-up. The company, after preliminary and promising results in Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), is looking for partners to submit a proposal for H2020-SC1-DTH-2018-2020 call to finalize and validate the tool at a larger scale. Clinical partners and a coordinator are sought.

Two types of partners are sought: – clinical / medical research organisations concerned by early Alzheimer detection / characterization (public, private), able or willing to conduct clinical / cohort trials in this field. – a coordinator with experience in H2020 project coordination. It could be one of the clinical/medical partners or a company involved in this field.

we are the oldest industrial cluster in Croatia, established in 2003 as a non-profit organization, by following bottom-up approach. Since Croatia is
very small, we act on the national level.

At the moment, the cluster has about 100 members/companies from all of the sectors related to the forest-based industries value chain: 
forestry, sawmill industry, furniture industry, wood in construction, wood biomass, design, transport, certification etc.

The Cleaner Production Centre of Serbia (CPCS) is a part of the Faculty for Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, with a mission to foster clean development through cooperation between Industry and Academic institutions.

The Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy of the University of Belgrade is the leading and the oldest accredited high education, scientific and research institution in Serbia and the region in the field of chemical technologies. The CPCS has internationally recognized experience in the implementation of Projects concentrated on Resource Efficiency. We are interested to participate in the Horizon 2020 projects as a partner. Please find below short description of our activities.

The main activities of CPCS are, amongst others Resource Efficiency & Cleaner Production (RECP) training, plant assessments and audit services for companies, water, and energy efficiency audits, Ecoprofit projects for municipalities using the RECP methodology, IPPC consulting services, and so forth. The Center has five full-time employees and cooperates with more than 40 consultants on a part-time basis, most of whom have Ph.D. degrees. Furthermore, we have active collaboration with Serbian Chamber of Commerce, enabling us to quickly identify companies willing to participate on various Projects.

The Center can offer expertise in following fields:

? Performing Low Carbon and Cleaner Production Assessments

? Chemicals management, including Chemical Leasing

? Implementation of International Projects

? Connection with more than 200 Companies from all sectors (mostly SME?s)

Η ΔΕΗ / ΚΔΕΠ ενδιαφέρεται για συμμετοχή σε ερευνητικά προγράμματα (είτε ως συντονιστής είτε ως συνεργάτης) που συνδέονται με την παραγωγή ηλεκτρικής ενέργειας με την ευρεία έννοια, αντιρρυπαντικές τεχνολογίες και τεχνολογίες καθαρού περιβάλλοντος, διαχείριση ενέργειας, ανάπτυξη νέων τεχνολογιών και πρακτικών σε μη καταστρεπτικούς ελέγχους, τεχνολογία υλικών, ανάλυση κινδύνων στην οικονομία και το μάνατζμεντ.
Το ΚΔΕΠ/ΔΕΗ ενδιαφέρεται για συμμετοχή σε ερευνητικά προγράμματα που σχετίζονται με τις δραστηριότητες των εργαστηρίων του αλλά αυτό δεν αποτελεί περιορισμό. Επίσης ενδιαφέρεται για συμμετοχή σε προγράμματα όπως το ΕΣΠΑ, Κοινοτικά Πλαίσια Στήριξης, Connecting Europe Facility κλπ.

We would like to propose collaboration between our universities. We would be glad to cooperate with you in the framework of Erasmus+ Programme namely “Learning Mobility of Individuals Programme” as well as “Capacity-building projects in the field of higher education” Programme. UET has an extensive experience in project development, networking and stakeholders’ engagement. It has proven to be a committed a reliable partner in successful project management in various national and international programmes of research, capacity-building and development. UET has a pool of highly qualified researchers, lecturers and project managers and it also collaborates with local and regional CSOs and network of higher education institutions, businesses and other stakeholders. UET pays particular importance to its strategic communication, visibility of actions, dissemination of information, knowledge-sharing and exchange of experiences and know-how, which is an added value for the dissemination strategies of projects. UET is already participating in projects funded by the European Commission, such as: Erasmus + Key Action 1, Erasmus+ Key Action 2/Capacity Building; Life Long Learning Programme – Jean Monnet Chair; Tempus Project; Erasmus Mundus; European Programme for Science and Technology (COST); Instrument of Pre-Accession IPA CBC and Interreg Med projects.C25
