The “ACTION Pedagogical Department of Primary Education” is a non-governmental, voluntary, student group, which was created in the academic year 2012-13 with the aim of active participation of students of the Pedagogical Department of Primary Education in Patras in voluntary activities for children in need. Specifically, we carry out creative activities and provide voluntary teaching. The teaching is addressed to elementary, secondary, and high school students. These activities take place in the childcare centers “Skagiopouleio for Males” and “Nursing Care for Girls”. In 2016, we started our cooperation with the charitable, non-governmental association “Ark of Love – Peace of disabled children” in the field of creative play as well as with the self-managed “Social Tutoring”, within the “Social Center of Patras” in the field of Teaching. Also, the main goal of our team is to promote scientific pedagogical research and that is why we organize a scientific day every year.
